The rains recorded in recent months have had a positive impact on avocado cultivation in Spain, driving an estimated 20% growth in production compared to the previous season, according to industry data.
This rebound represents a significant improvement after several seasons affected by water shortages and reinforces optimistic expectations for next year. Although pre-climate crisis levels have not yet been reached, the trend is clearly upward.
The harvest has exceeded 75,000 tons, with a key boost from late-winter rains and a very favorable spring, especially in eastern Andalusia.
Furthermore, new growing areas in provinces such as Cádiz, Huelva, and the Valencian Community have begun to contribute volume, consolidating the growth of the national avocado industry.
After a previous campaign marked by water restrictions, the sector is showing clear signs of recovery.
